The company celebrated the inauguration of the facility on 7 May with executives from Ireland and Spain, among others, and regional authorities. The centre will double Musgrave's logistics capacity and is BREEAM certified.

Inurban, a real estate developer specialising in logistics developments, has completed the development of Musgrave España's new logistics centre, located in the Las Norias Industrial Estate in Monforte del Cid (Alicante). The project has been developed under the turnkey modality, on a 65,000 m² plot, with a built area of 27,000 m², which will enable Musgrave to double its operational capacity and centralise its logistics and administrative activity in the Vinalopó area. The property offers a strategic location, with direct access to the A-31 motorway, ensuring optimal connections to the Mediterranean Corridor, Alicante-Elche Airport and the Port of Alicante. This location reinforces the efficiency of Musgrave's supply chain in the Levante area and optimises its fresh, chilled and ambient distribution operations.

Commitment to sustainability: clean energy, efficiency and smart control

The new logistics centre has been designed with high environmental standards, in line with Inurban's sustainability policy. The building is designed to obtain BREEAM Excellent certification, incorporating solutions that improve its energy efficiency and reduce its environmental impact:

  • Photovoltaic system with 480 solar panels, capable of generating more than 342,000 kWh per year, which translates into energy savings of 36.6% and a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions.
  • Electric chargers to promote cleaner mobility among employees, suppliers and own fleet.
  • Intelligent LED lighting with presence detection in common areas.
  • BMS (Building Management System) that allows real-time control and optimisation of variables such as temperature, lighting and energy consumption.
  • Infrastructure prepared for future expansion of the solar PV system depending on actual consumption.

An institutional event with international participation

The official inauguration brought together Musgrave Group executives from both Ireland and Spain. Among those present were Nicky Hartery, chairman of Musgrave; Noel Keeley, CEO of the group; and Luis López, general manager in Spain, among others. Also taking part were authorities such as the Regional Minister for Trade, María Ángela Cano; the Director General for Trade, María Isabel Sáez; the Deputy for Economic Development, Carlos Pastor, and the Mayor of Monforte del Cid, Juan José Hernández.
