Last weekend, Yecla was transformed into a large open-air museum with the celebration of the “City of Yecla” National Open-Air Painting Competition, an event that has already established itself as an artistic benchmark in the region and reflects the open and dynamic nature of the local culture. The event, organized by the Municipal School of Fine Arts and the Department of Culture, attracted participants of all ages who, from the early hours of the morning, filled the streets and squares of the municipality with their creativity and unique vision of the urban environment.
The contest covered three categories—adults, youth, and children—and the works, created entirely on site, had to capture the essence of Yecla and its spaces: from iconic monuments to everyday corners, allowing each artist to contribute their personal interpretation through different techniques and styles.
At Inurban, we are deeply proud to collaborate in this event and to present the Inurban Award, which in 2025 has recognized the work of Aida Mauri Crusat. The artist, previously recognized in prestigious competitions, presented an aerial view of San Antonio Street that stands out for its chromatic sensitivity and mastery of light, reflecting the urban essence of Yecla with emotion and perspective.
We would like to congratulate Aida Mauri and all the artists who participated, as well as thank the jury appointed by the Department of Culture and the organization for their efforts in promoting and taking care of every detail of the contest. In addition, we celebrate the boost that this initiative gives to the art and cultural life of the city, encouraging both residents and visitors to discover Yecla from an artistic and human perspective.
At Inurban, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting local culture by supporting projects that encourage reflection, creativity, and social connection.
